About The Idaho Agenda

In 1992, the Family Research Council published a DVD entitled The Gay Agenda. The video, full of exaggerations, misquotes, religious bigotry and outright lies, has all but been forgotten. The title, however, continues to be used in political speeches and sermons around the country; a propaganda tool meant to strike fear and prejudice against LGBTQIA Americans who seek acceptance and equality.

The title of this blog is, in part, an attempt to reclaim the “agenda” phrase. To give nod to the hundreds of thousands of individuals, past present and future, involved in the fight for equality. If those cries, sweat and tears is an “agenda”, so be it. Let that agenda permeate into the hearts and minds of every American until the lines drawn by hate, intolerance and discrimination have been erased.

The purpose of the “Idaho Agenda” is to spotlight current voices, stories, news and projects of those participating in the equality movement here in Idaho and beyond. Its mixture of local, national and regional news, information and commentary will hopefully inspire its readers to join in the “agenda”.
